Oil Product Processing Specialist

The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a medical document from their doctor through our company website. We are currently seeking an Oil Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for the extraction, blending, diluting and packaging of medical cannabis oil, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and operating extraction machinery;
  • Blending bulk cannabis oils to produce a finished oil dilution;
  • Working with the Quality Assurance team to submit samples for analysis;
  • Entering production and analysis data into an oil production database, and ensuring said database is accurate and updated at all times;
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils and facilities used in the process;
  • Adhering to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
  • Assisting the Dry Product processing team as required.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma in science and experience working in a laboratory environment since this position requires strong attention to detail and strict adherence to written Standards Operating Procedure. Organization skills, demonstrated record keeping abilities and proficiency with MS Office are essential. An understanding of Health Canada’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an asset. Dried Product Processing Specialist

We are currently seeking an Dried Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for manicuring, milling, decarboxylation and packaging of dried medical marijuana, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Monitor, participate in and maintain work flow for each step of the post-harvest production: final manicure, milling, decarboxylation and packaging;
  • Clean and maintain equipment and facilities used in the process;
  • Collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to:
    • lot dried product for sale;
    • submit samples for analysis;
    • observe control points and equipment, as well as monitor resources to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Compile, sort, analyze data and report on production performance;

Market Analyst

We are currently seeking a Market Analyst to join our Product Innovation and Management Team. The position is based at our facility located in Gatineau, Quebec. This is a permanent, full-time position which offers excellent benefits.

Reporting to the Product Manager (who will oversee the Product Innovation and Management Team), the Market Analyst gathers data through primary and secondary research and turns it into meaningful insights for the company to make data driven decisions on product planning and corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, collect, and analyze data on consumers, products, competitors, trends, and the industry; consolidate analyzed data into reports and proposals;
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing, sales and communication programs and strategies;
  • Understand business objectives, design surveys and focus groups to identify opportunities of new products and market segments;
  • Keep abreast of economic, market, and industry news;
  • Assist with special projects and other initiatives, as required;

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate holds a degree in statistics, marketing or related field, combined with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a market analyst role. Experience within the pharmaceutical sector or another FMCG setting is an important asset. French/English bilingualism is an asset.

Candidates should also have advanced knowledge of G-Suite, MS Office Suite and other statistical analysis packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS or similar). The ability to work in a fast-paced environment undergoing rapid growth is also essential.

Event Coordinator

The Hydropothecary Corporation is seeking a talented individual to join our Operations team in the role of Event Coordinator. This full-time position is located at our Gatineau, Quebec facility.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the suitable candidate will collaborate with sales and marketing to coordinate events, conferences and exhibitions. The incumbent will define and work pre-event logistics and on-site operations for each of the events, as well as managing communications, execution, and post-event follow-up and reporting.

The ideal candidate has excellent event management skills and expertise and has experience evaluating event feasibility and return-on-investment. Furthermore, as main point of contact, the Event Coordinator must ensure that all stakeholders contribute and work together in creating and delivering world-class experiences.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend events, conferences, and exhibitions;
  • Plan, develop and manage a marketing plan for each event;
  • Define, coordinate and manage logistics for each event;

Graphic Designer

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Graphic Designer will be expected to:

  • Assist in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
  • Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
  • Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of various other marketing campaigns and activities.

Requirements:

  • A diploma in graphic design or other related field (as well as a portfolio) is required;
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (other program knowledge would be considered an asset);

Cleaning Specialist

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Cleaning Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure that office spaces, shared spaces and production areas are cleaned in accordance with Standards Operating Procedures and Health Canada requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Clean various workspaces in accordance with the pre-established schedule.
  • Ensure cleaning of offices spaces: sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting and upholstered furniture.
  • Clean and disinfect public areas such as lunchrooms and washrooms.
  • Empty Trash containers and recycling bins.
  • Periodically wash windows and walls.
  • Clean walkways, hallways, walls and/or counters in the Production area in accordance with SOP and ACMPR requirements. This includes greenhouses, laboratories and other secured areas.

Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

    Building Operator

    We are currently seeking a Facilities Specialist who will report to the Facilities Manager and Supervisor. The Facilities Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure the overall upkeep of our greenhouses, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspect as required mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems and related equipment including but not limited to carbon dioxide supplementation systems, water treatment, boilers, air handling units, irrigation system, computerized environmental control systems, greenhouse and building envelope, etc, on daily/weekly basis and complete appropriate record logs in order to ensure equipment is maintained in good working order;
    • Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
    • Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects.
    • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.

    The ideal candidate is a good communication and as excellent customer service skills, able to work independently with minimal direction and able to respond quickly to emergency situations, great time management skills and ability to prioritize work in order to deliver successful results within agreed upon time frames. Collaborative worker and effective member of a team, good judgment and decision-making skills, detailed oriented and good organization skills, positive attitude and willingness to work overtime.     Senior Accountant

    We are currently seeking an Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Services team. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will support all finance department activities: accounts receivable, accounts payable, month/year end routines and financial reporting. Among other things, he/she will:

    • Maintain general ledger balance sheet accounts by reconciling accounts details and control accounts.
    • Identify, investigate, analyze and report on account variances.
    • Adjust general ledger balances by posting and/or adjusting journal entries, and prepare monthly working papers.
    • Monitor the general ledger for accuracy and effectiveness.
    • Adhere to and promote accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, provincial, and local financial legal requirements.
    • Participate in the preparation of quarter end/ year end working papers and close routines.
    • Provide support to the financial reporting function by documenting complete and concise variance analysis into their working papers.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Director of Sales will be responsible for building authentic business relationships between the Quebec and Hydropothecary branches. It is not just a representational role, it's a key role in building strong relationships and providing outstanding service both before and after the sales process. We are looking for passionate people with excellent abilities to train and educate our customers, while providing outstanding after-sales service. This key role will put in place excellence in execution with SQDC branches.

    Manager, Media Relations and Corporate Communications

    Reporting to the Vice-President of Corporate Communications and Government Relations, the Manager supports the development of Hydropothecary’s communications strategies and is responsible for the execution of internal and external communications tactics. This includes, but may not be limited to, media relations, corporate messaging, internal communications and investor communications.

    Media Relations:

    • Support the development of Hydropothecary’s media relations strategy for Quebec and the RoC, ensuring alignment with the overall communications strategy;
    • Lead the execution of the media relations strategy:
      • Ensure Hydropothecary is included in media stories about cannabis in Quebec;
      • Leverage, build and/or maintain trusted relationships with mainstream media journalists in Quebec and the RoC;
      • Build and maintain relationships with cannabis media;
    • Ensure media monitoring and report to senior management and internal teams as appropriate;
    • Manage media requests;
    • Act as a company spokesperson as required;
    • Provide media training to internal teams.

    Crisis Communications:

    • Develop a crisis communications protocol and ensure implementation;
    • Train affected persons;

    Strategic Counsel / Corporate Communications:

    • Lead the development of an internal communications strategy and ensure execution, working closely with Human Resources on content and messaging;
    • Develop communications material for internal clients such as the CEO, the Board of Directors and more. This includes but is not limited to corporate presentations, speeches, op-eds and other high-profile communications opportunities;

    Corporate Paralegal

    • Producing, editing, managing and filling various corporate, commercial and transactional documents;
    • Provincial and federal document filings;
    • Liaising with Legal, Finance, HR and Operation Groups;

    Project Coordinator - 6 month contract

    The Hydropothecary is a licensed producer of medical marijuana, which is sold legally and directly to patients with a medical document from their doctor through our company website.     We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator who will report to the Director, Capitals Projects. The Project Coordinator to work on an ongoing construction project. Working with individual project managers, develop project plans, creating task lists, editing and modifying tasks types, building a work breakdown structure. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Create task dependencies with understanding of constraints, and build project schedules using MS Project, including subprojects and various views;
    • Assess progress on completion of tasks and deliverables and maintain up-to-date status in the project schedule;
    • Monitor schedule deviations and variances, record scope changes, and trends that potentially affect schedule performance;

    Quality Assurance Specialist

    We are currently seeking an Quality Assurance Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Quality Management, the Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the quality assurance systems for medical cannabis in strict compliance with Health Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). The Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for supporting the company’s Quality Assurance, production, maintenance and facilities departments. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Performs QA monitoring in all areas of upstream and downstream production processes and communicates results to respective area stakeholders. This He/She will be mainly accountable for any production
    • Performs laboratory functions such as testing, equipment management and test product development
    • Provides inventory assistance to upstream and downstream production processes
    • Assists in quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with Health Canada’s guidelines and guidelines pertaining to production, processing, packaging, labeling, shipping

    Facilities Manager

    We are currently seeking a Facilities Manager who will report to the Director, Facilities and Security. The Facilities Manager will oversee our facilities team to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Prioritize, dispatch and ensure completion of requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. The incumbent will be expected to take part in projects such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
    • Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
    • Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects and ensure completion of work in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
    • Manage facilities department staff, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is assigned and completed to meet all applicable standards and regulations.
